Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Trim Carpenter to join our construction team. As a trim carpenter, you will be responsible for installing finish carpentry elements such as baseboards, crown molding, door and window casings, and other interior wood finishes in newly constructed homes.
Position & Responsibilities
Install interior trim, including doors, baseboards, casings, crown molding, and cabinetry.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
Operate power and hand tools to cut, shape, and assemble wood and other materials.
Ensure all work is done to a high standard of craftsmanship and in compliance with building codes.
Collaborate with site supervisors and other trades to stay on schedule and meet project deadlines.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Identify and report any issues or defects to supervisors.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of experience in trim or finish carpentry.
Proficiency with carpentry tools and techniques.
Strong understanding of residential construction and finish work.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
Work on homes throughout the Halifax and surrounding areas.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Junior Drafting Technician

We are seeking a Junior Drafting Technician to support our design and construction teams. The successful candidate will produce precise construction drawings, floor plans, elevations, and sections using AutoCAD. Responsibilities include preparing construction drawing packages, revising drawings based on feedback, and maintaining drafting standards. This role involves close collaboration with designers and project coordinators, interpreting design concepts into technical drawings, managing product orders, and working with clients through their building process.
Position & Responsibilities
Produce detailed construction drawings, floor plans, elevations, and sections using AutoCAD.
Assist in the preparation of permit and construction drawing packages.
Revise and update drawings based on design changes or feedback from team members.
Maintain drawing standards and ensure accuracy and consistency in all drafting work.
Collaborate with designers, project coordinators, and other team members to support project goals.
Track and order products based on client or designer specifications.
Interpret design sketches and concepts into technical drawings.
Assists clients with inquiries throughout the construction process with clear and precise communication.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Diploma or certificate in Architectural Technology, Drafting, or related field.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
Understanding of residential building codes, construction methods, and materials.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Eagerness to learn and grow.
Drafting experience is considered an asset.
